January 05, 2012

The 2011 Nemaha Valley High School Alumni Basketball Tournament was held on Saturday, December 17th.  There were over 35 players who participated on the five teams.  A round robin tournament format was used to determine the champion.  The team of  David Frehe, Darrin Hermesch, Ryan Honeyman, Brian Gudenkauf, Brad Reinecke, Steven Rusche, and Chris Rottinghaus ended the day 4-0 and were crowned the alumni champions.  Over $600 was raised from this year’s tournament with all the proceeds going to the Nemaha Valley School Educational Foundation.  Since the inception of the basketball tournament and the alumni volleyball tournament ten years ago, over $5000 has been raised for scholarships to reward graduates of Nemaha Valley High School.
