Questions from the Jan 4, 2012 Strategic Planning Presentation:
In regards to the “Facilities” Target Area, under the Action Plan to close the SBE building, what is meant by “Student performance” under evaluation?
The concern of the committee was for the children that would be moving from St. Benedict Elementary to Nemaha Valley Elementary School and they wanted to measure how they were handling the change.
The Public Relations committee – where are you on that?
Like many of the other Action Steps we will need many volunteers from across the district to fill those positions. We are in the process of getting the Public Relations Committee together so if you have an interest or skill in that area let Mr. Kohlman or Dr. Beck know.
Regarding the lease agreements with the two parishes: are they one or two year agreements?
The lease agreements with the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Parishes are two year agreements and we are in the first year of those lease agreements. If the St. Benedict Elementary School Building is closed at the end of this school year we will still honor the lease that was signed and make the payments next year to fulfill that promise.

(this was asked of Ilene Enneking afterwards) Once the students who have been moved from SBE to NVEMS reach 6th grade, will they be allowed to return to Baileyville?
That decision is yet to be determined at this time.
(also asked of Ilene Enneking afterwards) Where will the community meeting be held regarding the closure of SBE?
The required meetings about building closures will be held in the new gym at B&B JH/HS.On February 23rd starting at 7:00 pm.
