USD 442 Staff Honored

May 26, 2009

On May 22, U.S.D. 442, Nemaha Valley Schools, honored staff members at an end of the year luncheon sponsored by Community National Bank of Seneca.

Being honored as the U.S.D. 442 Teacher of the Year was Connie Ronnebaum, physical education and health teacher.

For 5 years of service to the district being honored were Sharon Duryea, NVHS library aide, Michele Lohmann, SGS secretary, and Julie Schmitz, special education para professional. For 10 years, Bethany Perry, special education speech teacher, Carol Sack, SGS 3rd grade teacher, Shelly Schmelzle, SGS pre school teacher, and Sharon Wanklyn, special education teacher, were recognized.

15 year honorees were Dee Claas, SGS special education teacher, Dirk Colgrove, U.S.D. 442 band and vocal teacher, Betty Peterson, Nemaha Valley Junior High math teacher, Connie Picolet, special education para professional, and Gladys Rusche, U.S.D. 442 food service cook.

Barb Korte, a special education para professional at SGS, was awarded for 20 years of service. Bruce Stanley, NVHS auto mechanics teacher, has worked for the school for 30 years. Reaching the 35 year mark are Jerry Odum, U.S.D. 442 Activities Director, and Mike Philbrick, NVHS science teacher.
