Scholarships Awarded through Nemaha Valley Schools Education Foundation

May 21, 2009

On May 15, 2009, the Senior Awards Banquet was held at Nemaha Valley High School. As part of the program, Nemaha Valley Schools Education Foundation member Tom Hilbert awarded scholarships to ten graduates on behalf of the organization and its scholarship providers. The following nonrenewable scholarships were awarded:

2 @ $1000 Koch & Co. (human medicine and vo-tech, respectively)—Ashley Haverkamp, Andy Kramer
$500 Crestview Manor—Katie Kramer
4 @ $500 SKF—Matt Fangman, Ethan Hammes, Shayla Winkler, and Eric Zinke.
1 @ $500 NV Foundation—Patrick Strathman
1 @ $500 NV Alumni—Shelly Schmits
1 @ $520 Barbara Huninghake Memorial—Patrick Strathman
4 @ $250 Class of 1988—Ashley Haverkamp, Sam Haynie, Patrick Strathman, and Eric Zinke

In order to receive the scholarships, students must complete an application, which includes information on activities, honors, and educational and career goals. A letter of recommendation from someone outside of NVHS must accompany the application. A scholarship evaluation panel comprised of Foundation members then evaluates the applications.

The Nemaha Valley Schools Education Foundation is organized as a not-for-profit, tax exempt 501c3, charitable endowment fund to be used to generate and support special projects, programs, and scholarships in the Nemaha Valley Schools.
